Edgar Lopez of Plano Joins Aurora University Chapter of National honor society

Edgar Lopez of Plano was among 103 Aurora University sophomores inducted into the AU chapter of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society this fall.

Lopez, a computer science major who graduated from Plano High School, earned above a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale for at least one semester freshman year to earn a place in the honor society.

Founded in 1923 at the University of Illinois, the society recognizes freshman academic achievement. The AU chapter, founded in 1990, is among 300 chapters nationwide.

Aurora University is an inclusive community dedicated to the transformative power of learning. Approximately 4,400 degree-seeking students are enrolled each year on the university's Illinois and Wisconsin campuses, and the university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association to award degrees at the baccalaureate, master's and doctoral levels.
